UPDATE: Details of theft charge filed against former Howard County Sheriff candidate
(ABC 6 News) — A charge has been filed against former Howard County Sheriff’s Office investigator Richard Hollenbeck, who resigned last November.
Hollenbeck has been charged with 4th-degree serious misdemeanor theft.
The charges came after the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was asked to follow up on a complaint regarding Hollenbeck earlier this month.
The investigation showed that Hollenbeck printed documents and used Howard County property which exceeded a value of $300 but not exceeding $750.
Court documents obtained March 21 indicate that Hollenbeck made 778 printed copies of uniform pictures and word documents while at work, totaling $389.00.
WCSO was assisted by HCSO and the Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
Hollenbeck is scheduled to appear in court June 2.
